Two major avenues in Minsk to be closed to traffic during Lukashenko's inauguration on Saturday afternoon
Independence Avenue (formerly Francisak Skaryna Avenue) from Lenin Street to Yanka Kupala Street will be off-limits to traffic between 2 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., said the Minsk city road police's Propaganda Department. A stretch of Pobeditelei Avenue (formerly Masherova Avenue) will be closed to traffic between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. It will open for an hour and then will be shut down again until 4:45 p.m. The Minsk city road police have urged drivers to use other routes on April 8 to access the areas they usually get to from the avenues. |
