Voter turnout exceeds 25 percent threshold in all 11 districts in second round of parliamentary by-election

Minsk, 1 April. By 4 p.m., the required 25 percent voter turnout threshold was exceeded in all the 11 electoral districts where the first round of by-elections for the National Assembly's lower chamber was held, Nikolai Lozovik, secretary of the central election commission, told BelaPAN on Sunday.
The commission released the following district-by-district turnout figures:
District 1, Brest - 40.2 percent;
District 2, Brest - 44.4 percent;
District 3, Brest - 38.2 percent;
District 4, Baranovichi - 39.3 percent;
District 5, Baranovichi - 43.6 percent;
District 17, Vitebsk - 48.4 percent;
District 18, Vitebsk - 44.2 percent;
District 19, Vitebsk - 45.8 percent;
District 20, Vitebsk, -- 41.6 percent;
District 77, Borisov - 40.2 percent;
District 107, Minsk - 29.9 percent.
The election is expected to fill the 11 remaining seats in the 110-member House of Representatives.
The central election commission will announce the winners on April 2.
